Our Organizing

The Chinese Progressive Association educates and organizes the low income and working class immigrant Chinese community in San Francisco to build collective power with other oppressed communities to demand better living and working conditions and justice for all people.

Our core strategies are community education and organizing, leadership development and alliance and movement building. CPA engages in community education and organizing around health and environmental justice,workers' rights, housing, immigrant rights, and other issues of concern to the organization's members and constituents.

Common Roots Youth Organizer Program 

CR is a structured year-long program that develops the leadership and organizing capacity of immigrant Chinese and Latino youth. 



Chinatown Justice Program 

CJP educates and organizes low-income tenants in Chinatown to improve their housing conditions and achieve social justice.

Immigrant Power for Environmental Health and Justice 

IPEHJ educates and organizes working-class Asian and Latino immigrant families in Southeast San Francisco to address disproportionate environmental health risks and build healthy communities. 


Political Empowerment Campaign
PEC is a voter education and mobilization program to promote civic participation and build a progressive voice for working-class Chinese immigrants in local, state-wide and national politics.

Worker Organizing Center 

WOC educates and organizes low-wage immigrant workers to improve their working conditions and achieve economic justice, provides strategic services, and advocates for the interests of the working-class immigrant community.
