Anna Lei is the Operations Coordinator at Chinese Progressive Association. Anna is a queer, 2nd generation Chinese immigrant born and raised in San Francisco, CA with roots in Toisan, Guangdong. She first joined CPA’s Youth Movement of Justice and Organizing (Youth MOJO) in 2010 as a high school student and later became a core leader and a founding member of CPA’s Gender and Sexuality Diversities (GSD) program. Anna was also an Eva Lowe Fellow and a part of the founding cohort of the Seeding Change Fellowship in 2014. She graduated cum laude from Tufts University with a degree in Astrophysics and a minor in Asian American Studies before joining CPA as staff in 2017. Outside of CPA, Anna builds QTAPI (queer and trans Asian Pacific Islander) power with API Equality – Northern California (APIENC) as a member of their Core Team and a committee member of APIENC’s Dragon Fruit Project, an intergenerational QTAPI oral history project. Besides fighting for justice and liberation, Anna’s passions include taking care of CPA office’s plants, reading high fantasy books, and BTS (yes, the kpop boyband).
