Lauren Liu is the Special Projects Coordinator at Chinese Progressive Association. She is the daughter of immigrants and ancestors from Guangzhou and Hong Kong. In 2014, she participated in the inaugural class of the Seeding Change Fellowship Program as an Eva Lowe Fellow at CPA where she discovered her love of working with young people. She has continued working at CPA since the fellowship program in a variety of roles such as coordinator of the queer youth program (GSD), fellowship program staff, and community event planner. Lauren has orchestrated mental health trainings for staff and held youth space to explore mental and emotional wellness and healing.

Outside of her work at CPA, Lauren works as a therapist/healer supporting high-school aged young people of color in Richmond to know they are enough, to access more joy, realize the power in their voices, find liberation from trauma, and become agents of change in their communities. She received her B.A. in Ethnic Studies and Asian American Studies and her Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in community mental health from UC Berkeley.
