Worker Movement Building and Alliance Manager

Mario de Mira is the Worker Movement Building and Alliance Manager at Chinese Progressive Association. In this role, Mario coordinates the Progressive Workers Alliance (PWA) and the Workers’ Rights Community Collaborative (WRCC) through San Francisco’s labor enforcement agency Office of Labor Standards Enforcement (OLSE). He also provides strategic leadership to Excelsior Works! to promote greater integration of organizing and services. Prior to CPA, Mario was the Workers’ Rights Program Director at the Filipino Community Center in San Francisco, where the program made major breakthroughs in exposing wage theft and other forms of labor exploitation in the home-care industry. Mario is an advocate with the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines (ICHRP), and is also a hip hop artist with the Bay Area-based progressive rap group Power Struggle.
