Nancy Truong is a Community Organizer with Chinese Progressive Association. At CPA, they work on a variety of youth team and organization wide projects including: Gender, Sexuality Diversities; Common Roots; civic engagement work; and Sisterhood Gardens. Nancy grew up in San Francisco by way of Vietnam and comes from a working class family. She identifies as immigrant, queer, and Chinese from Vietnam. She studied Health and Human Biology and Ethnic Studies at Brown University. At her campus she was involved with political education work through the Brown Center for Students of Color. After participating in the Eva Lowe Fellowship, Nancy was inspired to write a thesis on Community Organizing, Health, and Labor in Vietnamese Nail Salons in the Bay Area with support from API Equality – Northern California (APIENC). They are interested in the intersections of health/medicine, EJ, and cultural work. In her free time Nancy dreams of yummy eats and spends time with friends and family.
