Community Healing & Solidarity
Building long-term solutions to community safety and solidarity through multiracial exchanges and restorative justice trainings.
Purpose
Emerged from the need to respond to our communities' safety, Community Healing and Solidarity is a set of programs that engage in discussions regarding frameworks of justice and sources of violence, with goals of seeking a more empathetic foundation for an effective justice system.
Programs
1. Member Exchanges
Members from different organizations come together to learn about each others’ lived experiences.
2. Restorative Justice
Coming together to learn about what justice and accountability look like when it restores rather than damages people, families, and communities.
3. Fireside Chats
An intergenerational and multiracial space to build solidarity and learn how current events and policies impact our communities. Held across three languages: English, Spanish, and Cantonese.
Testimonial
“After hearing about how flawed and ineffective our punitive system is, I think it’s valid to fight for a better criminal justice system by turning it into a restorative system.”
